West Boise Sewer District Addition and Remodel

This is remodeling of an older residential conversion for West Boise Sewer District. The District needed additional office space for daily operations and a larger conference room for monthly meetings and annual elections. Also, customers had to park behind the building and walk to the front entry. Many choose to use the back door, disrupting office operations.

The main entry was moved from the street side to the existing parking area to provide a logical entry point.  A new entry porch was added to the north side of the building to define the entry from the street, protect the entrance and provide a handicapped entry ramp. The existing wooden handicapped ramp and old driveway were replaced with landscaping.  The fascia was extended, stepped and finished with stucco.  New metal roofing, trim and soffits were installed. Stucco and brick was used at the columns and new construction to compliment the existing red brick.

650 square feet was added to the back of the building to create a new conference room and entry vestibule. The garage area was converted to office and a plan storage area. The former conference room became the reception counter. The former living/dining/kitchen area became one open office area by removing interior bearing walls. All structural modifications were hidden in the attic space.  The electrical system was modified to meet the requirements of a new networked data system.
