Executone
A 14,560 square foot corporate office building was designed for Executone (now Data-Tel). The owners program was used to develop conceptual site plan criteria based on local zoning ordinances which was used to evaluate multiple building sites.
The building was adapted to a site with unparallel property lines which afforded the opportunity for angling the parking area to create a landscape entry court. Landscaping in a variety of plant colors and textures provide an impressive first image for potential customers and attractive work environment for the employees. The corner orientation of the site separates service traffic from the main entrance.
The building is designed to meet the owner's desire for a unique exterior unlike other corporate office parks in the community while meeting design standards imposed by the development. The ground face concrete blocks delineate the windows, front entrance and side elements contrasting with the split CMU base, columns and cap coursing. Maroon stripes matching the corporate colors are contrast with the gray tone block and accentuate the ground face elements. Complimentary textured metal fascia panels are used at the entrance canopy and window screens.
The building is occupied by the owner and two tenants. The building has nine separate zones to accommodate various suite sizes and offer future flexibility. Warehouse space was designed to be converted to offices which occurred in 1997. The interior finishes are Class B+ standards except for the showcase conference/demonstration area. The demonstration area features custom oak finishes and work stations. The room is used for presentation of proposed equipment to clients and training after installation of the systems. A glass panel is used to showcase the switching equipment usually hidden in the electrical closet. In the remainder of the facility all of the furnishing, fabrics, finishes and art work was designed as one palette to compliment the exterior and site design.
